This Vigor 17 Series pistol is a spring-powered airsoft pistol styled after the popular 17-series polymer-framed service pistols, finished in blue. It comes as a complete starter set with a 6.5 inch sticky target and 1000 0.12g BBs, so you have everything you need to start shooting straight out of the box, apart from eye protection.
Spring pistols are the simplest form of airsoft replica. There is no gas to buy and no battery to charge: you simply cock the pistol by hand before each shot. That makes them inexpensive to run, very reliable and ideal for learning the basics of safe handling and accurate shooting.
How it works
Before each shot you cock the pistol by hand, which compresses the spring. When you pull the trigger, the spring drives a piston forward, pushing a burst of air behind the BB to send it down the barrel. Because each shot needs a manual cocking action, the pace of shooting is naturally slower and more deliberate, which encourages good habits and makes the pistol well suited to target practice rather than fast skirmish play.

Compatibility
Use 6mm airsoft BBs only. Light BBs such as the included 0.12g are the usual choice for spring pistols of this type. Replacement sticky targets and BBs are widely available, so the set can be topped up easily.
Care and maintenance
Never dry-fire the pistol repeatedly without a BB, as this can put extra strain on the spring and piston. Use clean, undamaged BBs and do not reuse BBs that have been fired, as dirt can block the barrel. Wipe the pistol down after use, keep it dry, and store it uncocked so the spring is not left under tension. Remove any loose BBs before putting it away.
