This policy explains how OnlyAirsoft collects and uses your personal information when you visit onlyairsoft.co.uk, buy from us or contact us.
Who we are
OnlyAirsoft is run by a sole trader trading as OnlyAirsoft, 20–22 Castle Street, Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 2DW, United Kingdom. We are the “controller” of your personal information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. What we collect
- Order and account details: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, order history and any notes you add (such as a UKARA number or other RIF defence).
- Age and eligibility checks: confirmation that you are 18 or over and, for realistic imitation firearms, details of your legal defence.
- Payments: payments are handled by our card payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment but we do not see or store your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us through our contact form, live chat, email or phone.
- Website use: technical information such as your IP address, browser and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies. See “Cookies” below.
- Marketing preferences: if you sign up to our newsletter.
How and why we use it
- To process and deliver your orders and provide customer service. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To meet legal obligations, including age checks and RIF defence checks under the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006, and keeping tax and accounting records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To prevent fraud and keep our website secure. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To improve our website and range. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, or your consent where cookies require it.
- To send marketing emails, only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Lawful basis: consent.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where we need to, with trusted providers who act on our instructions:
- delivery companies, to deliver your order;
- our card payment provider, to take payment;
- our website hosting, email and IT providers;
- our live chat provider, if you use live chat;
- our email newsletter provider, if you subscribe;
- professional advisers, and police or other authorities where the law requires it.
We never sell your personal information. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.
How long we keep it
- Order and accounting records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required by HMRC.
- Customer accounts: until you ask us to close your account, or after a long period of inactivity.
- Enquiries and chat messages: up to 2 years, unless they relate to an order.
- Marketing data: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to make the shop work (for example your basket and login), to remember your preferences and, with your permission, to understand how the site is used. You can choose which optional cookies to allow using the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the shop may then not work properly.
Children
Our products are only sold to adults aged 18 or over, and our website is not intended for children.
