Description
Xcortech Nano XET304u Mosfet for Version 2 Gearbox
The Xcortech Nano XET304u is a compact MOSFET for electric airsoft rifles (AEGs) with a Version 2 gearbox. A MOSFET takes the main electrical load away from the trigger contacts, so the trigger only has to send a small signal while the MOSFET switches the power to the motor. The result is sharper trigger response, less heat and far less wear on the trigger contacts.
Xcortech is a Taiwanese maker of airsoft electronics, known for its chronographs and electronic accessories. The XET304u is designed to be small enough to fit in tight spaces, making it a practical upgrade for players who want better trigger response and to protect their trigger contacts.
How it helps
In a standard AEG, all of the motor’s current passes through the trigger contacts. Over time this burns and pits the contacts, which leads to a less responsive trigger and, eventually, a trigger that does not fire at all. Fitting a MOSFET takes that current off the contacts, so they last much longer and the trigger feels crisper.
The XET304u uses a high-power dual MOSFET driver with very low internal resistance, which also helps deliver power to the motor efficiently. It includes circuit protection designed to guard the MOSFET against back electromotive force from the motor.
Installation
Fitting a MOSFET involves soldering it into your rifle’s wiring and, on a Version 2 gearbox, routing the wires around the gearbox and into the buffer tube or handguard depending on where your battery sits. It is a job for someone who is confident with a soldering iron and with AEG wiring. If you are not, have it fitted by an airsoft technician. Heat-shrink tubing is included for insulating the joints.
Key features
- Compact MOSFET for Version 2 gearbox AEGs
- High-power dual MOSFET driver
- Ultra-low internal resistance
- Protects trigger contacts from arcing and wear
- Sharper trigger response
- Back-EMF circuit protection
- Small size: approx. 30 x 14 x 4.7mm
- Heat-shrink tubing included
Compatibility
Designed for AEGs with a Version 2 gearbox, the most common gearbox in M4/M16-style rifles. Check your rifle’s gearbox type, wiring layout and battery location before buying. The unit is listed with a maximum input of 30V and 200A, so it comfortably covers the battery voltages normally used in AEGs; check your battery and motor setup with us if in doubt.
Care and maintenance
Once fitted, make sure all solder joints are covered with heat-shrink and the wires are routed where they cannot be pinched by the gearbox, receiver pins or stock. Unplug the battery whenever you are not using the rifle.
Check the wiring and connectors occasionally for damage, and keep the rifle dry, as moisture and electronics do not mix. If the rifle behaves oddly after fitting, disconnect the battery straight away and check the wiring.
Who is it for?
AEG owners with a Version 2 gearbox who want sharper trigger response and longer-lasting trigger contacts, and technicians looking for a compact MOSFET for upgrade work.
Please note: Fitting requires soldering. If in doubt, have it fitted by an airsoft technician.
