CSA by Ares VZ58M AEG Tatical (Small – FSCU – Blue – VZ58-001)
The CSA VZ58M Tactical by Ares (VZ58-001) is a licensed electric replica of the Czech VZ58 in its Small, most compact form, finished in blue. Produced by Ares under licence from CSA (Czech Small Arms), it pairs the VZ58’s distinctive lines with Ares’ FSCU electronic fire control.
The Small version keeps the overall size short and handy, which makes it an excellent choice for CQB, buildings and close woodland, while the modern Tactical stock lets you tailor the fit.
A different kind of rifle
The VZ58 is a Czech design, quite different from the AK despite a passing resemblance, and the CSA licence means the replica carries the original maker’s approval. Ares’ electric replica of the VZ58 takes Ares VZ58 magazines; AK magazines will not fit, as the magazine lips and catch differ.
This version is fitted with Ares’ FSCU electronic fire control, which manages the trigger electronically for a crisp response and less wear on the trigger components.
Compact handling
The short Small configuration is quick to bring on target and easy to move with in tight spaces. The collapsible stock sits on an M4-type tube, so you can adjust the length of pull to suit body armour or a chest rig, or fit a different M4-type stock.
For optics and accessories, Ares produces a dedicated VZ58 top rail system and tactical handguard.
Battery
Like the other VZ58 Tactical models, it is set up for a 7.4V LiPo battery with a small Tamiya connector. Measure the battery space before buying, and always charge LiPos on a balance charger.
Getting started
Fully charge a suitable battery before first use, then fit it as described in the manual and connect it carefully. Load a magazine, wind it if it is a high-capacity type, and start with the hop-up turned off. Fire a few shots at a safe target and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.
Have the rifle chronographed at your site before you play, and keep a note of the hop setting that suits your favourite BB weight so you can return to it quickly.

Compatibility
Ares VZ58 AEG magazines are required; AK magazines will not fit. The stock tube takes M4-type stocks, and Ares’ VZ58 rail system and handguard add mounting space for optics and accessories.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it away from the rifle, and charge LiPo batteries only on a proper balance charger under supervision. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a dry cloth patch every few games, as dirt and broken BB fragments are the main causes of flyers. Stick to good quality seamless BBs of a consistent weight.
Check screws, the flash hider and any mounts before each game day, and store the rifle somewhere dry. Leave the hop-up at a light setting in storage, and if the rifle has an electronic trigger unit, a fully charged battery helps it read the trigger cleanly.
