Description
S&T M203 Long Grenade Launcher (Polymer – Tan – STGLM203LDE)
The S&T M203 Long (STGLM203LDE) is a tan, polymer 40mm underbarrel grenade launcher modelled on the classic M203 used beneath M16 and M4 rifles. The long version is proportioned for full-length rifles and longer rail systems, giving a more traditional M16/M203 look.
Fitted beneath an M4 or M16-style replica, it lets you switch from firing BBs to launching a 40mm gas shell into a defended position, which is ideal for support roles, milsim and scenario games. The tan finish works well with desert, coyote and multicam kit.
Build and design
This version is listed as polymer, with the handguard section in polymer to keep the extra weight on your rifle manageable, while a retailer listing for this model describes the tube and smaller components as metal. It mounts on M4 and M16-style AEG or GBB rifle barrels, replacing the standard lower handguard. Because it sits under the barrel, it keeps the launcher close to the rifle’s centre line, so the combination stays balanced and easy to bring up to the shoulder.
How it works
The M203 fires 40mm airsoft shells, including Moscart-type gas shells. Each shell is filled with gas and loaded with BBs, then loaded into the launcher. Pulling the launcher’s trigger releases the gas and sends a cloud of BBs towards the target. Shell spreads are most effective at shorter ranges against windows, doorways and bunkers.
Setting up your rifle
Before fitting, remove your rifle’s battery and magazine and make sure it is clear. Follow the instructions supplied, take care not to trap any wiring when removing the lower handguard, and check that the launcher sits securely with no movement once fitted. A longer launcher suits rifles with longer barrels, such as M16-style replicas, better than short carbines.
Shells and gas
There is a wide choice of 40mm airsoft shells, from compact rounds to long, high-capacity ones. Pick shells made for M203-type launchers, fill them with the gas their maker recommends, and load fresh, clean BBs. Filling shells before the game and keeping them in a pouch saves time on the field, and a quick test shot in the safe zone confirms everything is working.

Compatibility

Handguard and front sight designs vary between makers, so check the images and your rifle before ordering. It takes 40mm airsoft shells; check that your chosen shells suit an M203-type launcher.
Care and maintenance
Keep the launcher tube clean and free of dirt, grit and stray BBs, and check that the mounting hardware is tight before every game, as vibration and knocks can loosen it over time. Wipe the launcher down after wet or muddy games and let it dry before storing. Look after your shells too: put a drop of silicone oil on the fill valve and seals, never overfill them, and store them with a little gas inside to keep the seals supple.
Who is it for?
The long M203 suits players with full-length M16 or M4 rifles who want a classic-looking tan underbarrel launcher for support and milsim roles.
Please note: 40mm shells, gas and BBs are sold separately; the rifle is not included. Always wear suitable eye protection when shooting.
