Description
Tectonic Innovations Quake 8 Way Grenade (Dark Grey)
The Quake 8 Way from Tectonic Innovations is a reusable, impact-activated sound grenade made in the UK, here in dark grey. It is a blank-firing grenade: when any part of it strikes a surface, a plunger drives the firing pin into a primer, producing a sharp bang. Its multi-shot base holds eight primers, so you can load once and get eight throws before you need to reload.
Because the grenade itself is not used up, the running cost is just the primers, which makes the Quake one of the most economical ways to use grenades regularly. Built from stainless steel and aircraft-grade aluminium, it is designed to be thrown game after game, and it has become a popular choice for CQB players and anyone who uses grenades every weekend.
How it works
At the top of the grenade is a stainless steel plunger. When the Quake hits a surface, from any angle, the plunger is driven into the firing pin, which strikes one of the .209 primers held in the base. The result is a loud bang that clearly signals the grenade has gone off.
The aluminium base has eight positions. To load it, unscrew the base, drop primers into the apertures and refit it. After each throw, simply twist the base round to the next position, ready to go again. You only need to prime the base once for eight uses.
Build quality
The Quake is machined from stainless steel and aircraft-grade aluminium, and measures approximately 40mm x 40mm x 125mm, a size that fits comfortably in the hand and in most grenade or utility pouches. The dark grey finish is understated and suits most loadouts. It is designed and made in the UK.
Key features
- Impact activated – goes off when any part strikes a surface
- Eight-position multi-shot base
- Load once for eight throws
- Uses .209 primers
- Stainless steel and aircraft-grade aluminium construction
- Reusable – low running costs
- Designed and made in the UK
- Dark grey finish
Compatibility
The Quake uses .209 primers in its multi-shot base. Use only the primer type the manufacturer specifies. It fits most grenade pouches and many utility pouches; a pouch with a secure lid or retention is a good idea so it cannot fall out while you move.
Care and maintenance
Clean the grenade after each game day: remove spent primers, brush out any residue from the base and firing pin area, and wipe the body with a dry cloth. Primer residue can build up over time, so a regular clean keeps the action crisp. Do not use the grenade with a damaged plunger or firing pin.
Store the grenade unloaded, and store primers separately in a cool, dry place away from heat and out of reach of children. Check the base threads and keep them free of grit so the base screws on smoothly.
Who is it for?
The Quake 8 Way suits players who throw a lot of grenades and want a durable, reusable option with low running costs, particularly CQB and indoor players, and anyone who values UK-made kit built to last.
Please note: Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and follow your site’s rules on grenades and pyrotechnics.
