What “Lightning Series” means
Lightning Series rifles swap the standard CYMA CGS steel bolt carrier for a lighter aluminium one. The lighter carrier uses less gas per shot, cycles faster and copes better in cooler weather, with a softer kick than the steel version.
Good to know: MWS and gas
MWS is Tokyo Marui’s M4 gas blowback system, and many rifles and magazines are now built to the same pattern. That gives you a wide choice of spare magazines and upgrade parts, but fit can vary slightly between brands, so if you’re mixing makes, ask us and we’ll check before you order. See our magazines for spares.
Gas rifles are at their best in mild weather. On cold days, keep spare magazines in an inside pocket and swap them rather than emptying one in long bursts. Use the gas recommended in the manual, keep the magazine seals lightly lubricated with silicone oil, and store magazines with a little gas in them.
