Description
Intelligent 500mA Smart Charger for 4-10 NiMH/NiCd Cells (EU Version)
This is an intelligent smart charger for NiMH and NiCd battery packs of 4 to 10 cells, with a 500mA charge current, as named. A pack of 4 to 10 cells covers the common NiMH airsoft battery voltages from small packs up to larger ones, so one charger can look after most of a typical AEG owner’s NiMH batteries.
A smart charger monitors the pack as it charges and is designed to finish the charge when the battery is full, which helps prevent overcharging. This is the EU version, as named, so it is supplied for European two-pin sockets. In the UK you will need a suitable, good-quality plug adapter, or a charger supplied with a UK plug.
Why a 500mA charge rate
500mA is a gentle charge rate for airsoft-sized NiMH packs. It takes longer than a fast charger, but a slower charge keeps the battery cooler and is generally kinder to the cells over their life. It is a good choice for overnight charging before a game day.
As a rough guide, the time taken depends on the pack’s capacity and how flat it is; a higher-capacity pack will take longer.
Using it
Check that your pack is NiMH or NiCd and has between 4 and 10 cells (for NiMH, about 4.8V to 12V). Make sure the charger’s output plug matches your battery connector, or use the correct adapter, then connect the battery and plug in the charger. Watch the indicator and disconnect when charging is complete.
Key features
- Intelligent smart charger
- 500mA charge current (as named)
- For 4 to 10 cell NiMH/NiCd packs (as named)
- Gentle charge rate for longer battery life
- Covers most NiMH airsoft packs
- EU version (EU plug)
Compatibility
For NiMH and NiCd packs of 4 to 10 cells only. Not for LiPo, Li-ion or LiFe batteries. The output connector is not stated in our listing, so check the photos and have the right adapter for your battery’s plug (for example Tamiya, mini Tamiya or Deans).
Care and maintenance
Always charge on a hard, non-flammable surface, away from anything that could catch fire, and never leave a battery charging unattended. Unplug the charger when charging is finished.
Keep the charger dry and dust-free, check the leads and plugs for damage before each use, and stop using it if the case, cable or connector is cracked or overheating. Let a hot battery cool down after use before you charge it.
Who is it for?
It is for AEG players with NiMH batteries who want a gentle, smart charger that covers a wide range of pack sizes.
Please note: Batteries are not included. This is the EU version: a UK plug adapter is needed for UK sockets. Not for lithium batteries.
