ACM Battery – AG9 LR936
This is an ACM AG9 button cell, also known as LR936. These small, coin-shaped alkaline cells power a wide range of compact electronics, including some laser units, small torches, watches, calculators and other small accessories.
Batteries like this are easy to forget until the moment one runs flat, which is usually at the worst possible time. Keeping a spare in your kit bag or accessory pouch means a dead cell will not leave a laser, sight or torch out of action for the rest of the day.
Battery sizes explained
Button cells are sold under several different codes. AG9, LR936 and LR45 are all names for the same 9.5mm x 3.6mm alkaline cell, with a nominal voltage of 1.5V. The same physical size is also made in silver oxide, usually sold as SR936, SG9 or 394.
Many devices will take either type, but silver oxide cells have a slightly different voltage and are often specified for watches and precision equipment. Always check the code printed on your old battery or in your device’s manual before ordering, and if in doubt, fit the type the manufacturer recommends.
Fitting a new cell
Note which way round the old cell was fitted before you remove it; the flat side marked with a plus sign is normally the positive terminal. Handle new cells by the edges where possible, as grease from fingers can affect the contacts, and make sure the battery compartment is clean and dry before closing it up.

Compatibility
Suitable for any device that takes an AG9, LR936 or LR45 cell. Some devices that list a silver oxide SR936 or 394 cell will also accept this size, but check your manual first. Do not use it in devices that need a different size, even if it appears to fit.
Care and storage
Store spare cells in their packaging, in a cool, dry place, and keep them away from coins, keys and other metal objects that could short the terminals. Remove batteries from devices you will not use for a long time to prevent leakage.
Button cells can be dangerous if swallowed, so keep new and used cells well out of the reach of children and pets. If one is swallowed, seek medical help immediately. Recycle used cells at a battery collection point; tape over the terminals first to prevent short circuits.
