Description
ACM In-Line Low Voltage Alarm (Deans)
The ACM In-Line Low Voltage Alarm is a small, simple device that connects between your battery and your replica and warns you when the battery voltage falls too low. It is fitted with Deans (T-plug) connectors, one of the most common connector types on airsoft batteries and upgraded replicas.
Lithium batteries, especially LiPos, can be damaged if they are run down too far. Most AEGs do not stop when the battery is nearly flat; they simply slow down, and by the time you notice, the pack may already be over-discharged. A low voltage alarm gives you a clear signal that it is time to swap to a fresh battery.
How it works
Plug the battery into one side of the alarm and the alarm’s other connector into your replica. The alarm sits in line and monitors the battery voltage while you play. When the voltage drops below its threshold it warns you, so you can stop and change batteries before the cells are damaged.
Why it is worth having
Over-discharging a lithium battery shortens its life, reduces its capacity and, in bad cases, makes it unsafe to charge again. A low-cost alarm can save you the price of a replacement battery and helps keep your trigger response sharp, as an AEG running on a nearly flat battery is slow and puts extra strain on the motor and switch.
Key features
- In-line low voltage alarm
- Deans (T-plug) connectors
- Warns before a battery is over-discharged
- Helps protect LiPo and other lithium batteries
- Simple plug-in fitting, no wiring changes
Compatibility
For batteries and replicas that use Deans connectors. Check your battery type and cell count against the alarm’s markings or instructions before use, and make sure there is room for the extra connector in your battery space. If your setup uses Tamiya or XT connectors you will need a suitable adaptor or a different version.
Care and maintenance
Unplug the alarm along with the battery after each game and store it somewhere dry. Check the leads and connectors regularly for damage or loose pins, and keep the connectors clean. Always charge lithium batteries on a suitable balance charger, never leave them charging unattended and store them in a LiPo-safe bag.
Who is it for?
The alarm suits players running LiPo or other lithium batteries with Deans connectors who want a simple safeguard against over-discharging, especially in replicas where it is hard to notice a battery running low.
