Description
ACM NATO PTT (Type Version Phone – FBLK)
This is an ACM push-to-talk (PTT) switch with a NATO-type connection, in its phone version (listed as FBLK). A PTT sits between your headset and your communication device, giving you a large, easy-to-find button so you can talk without reaching for the device itself.
Good comms change the way a team plays, and a separate PTT is the key to using them well. Mounted on your chest rig, plate carrier or shoulder strap, the button is always in the same place, so you can transmit while keeping both hands close to your replica. ACM makes affordable replica tactical kit, so this is an inexpensive way to build a realistic comms setup.
How it works
Your headset plugs into the PTT, and the PTT connects to your device. When you press the button, the PTT keys the transmission; let go and you are back to listening. This version is described as a phone version, so check the product photos and the connector on the lead to confirm it suits your phone or other device before ordering.
NATO-type connections are widely used on military-style tactical headsets, which makes this style of PTT a common choice for players running replica comms headsets.
Mounting
Most PTTs come with a clip or strap so you can fix them to MOLLE webbing or a strap. Place it where your hand naturally falls, such as high on your chest, and route the cables so they do not snag when you move, go prone or take your kit off.
