Description
ACM Universal Silencer 14CCW/14CW Thread – 150mm
This is an ACM universal mock silencer, 150mm long, listed for both 14mm counter-clockwise (14CCW) and 14mm clockwise (14CW) threads, as named. A mock silencer is one of the quickest ways to change the look of a rifle, giving it a purposeful, suppressed profile, and many players find that it also makes the rifle sound a little quieter at the muzzle.
ACM produces a wide range of affordable accessories for airsoft, and a universal-thread silencer like this one is a sensible choice if you own more than one rifle, or are not sure which thread direction your rifle uses.
Fitting
Most airsoft rifles have a 14mm thread at the muzzle, under the flash hider. AEGs and gas rifles of M4, AK and similar patterns usually use 14mm counter-clockwise threads, while some other designs use clockwise threads. Check which thread your rifle has, remove the existing flash hider and screw the silencer on firmly by hand. Please check the product photos and any instructions supplied for how the silencer is set up for each thread direction.
Before your first game, fire a few shots to make sure the BBs are passing cleanly through the silencer. The bore should line up with the barrel; a misaligned silencer can clip BBs and affect accuracy.
What a mock silencer does
A 150mm mock silencer adds visual length and presence to a short carbine or SMG without making it unwieldy. It does not change the rifle’s power or range. In an AEG, much of the noise comes from the gearbox, so the effect on sound varies between rifles, but on many it softens the crack from the muzzle and makes the rifle a little less obvious at a distance.
Key features
- Mock silencer from ACM
- 150mm length (as named)
- Listed for 14mm CCW and 14mm CW threads (as named)
- Fits many AEGs and gas rifles with a 14mm thread
- Adds a suppressed look
- Can soften muzzle noise on many rifles
Compatibility
Designed for replicas with a 14mm muzzle thread, in either direction as named. It will not fit 11mm threads, such as those found on many pistols and SMGs, without an adapter. Check that the silencer does not touch your handguard or any accessories, and that it clears the inner barrel, before using it in a game.
Care and maintenance
Remove the silencer now and then and check inside for dirt, BB fragments or debris, and wipe out the bore. Keep the threads clean and free of grit, and check the silencer is still tight before each game, as vibration can loosen it. Do not over-tighten, which can damage the threads on the silencer or the rifle.
Who is it for?
This silencer suits players with 14mm-threaded rifles who want a smart suppressed look, especially those who own rifles with different thread directions.
Please note: Rifle not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection when using airsoft replicas.
