The Airsoft Innovations Tornado 2 is a gas-powered timer grenade that holds up to 200 BBs and sprays them in a full circle when the timer runs out. This is the FDE (flat dark earth) version, a tan finish that matches coyote and desert loadouts. Airsoft Innovations is a Canadian company known for its grenades and creative airsoft accessories, and the Tornado range is among its best-known products.
Grenades come into their own in CQB and building clearance, where a single throw can clear a room or flush players from behind cover. The Tornado 2 gives you that capability in a tough, reusable package that you can refill and throw again and again.
How it works
The Tornado 2 is a timer grenade. You twist the timer to one of three settings, fill the grenade with green gas and load up to 200 BBs. When the timer runs down, the grenade releases its BBs in a full 360-degree spread, catching players hiding around corners or behind cover in rooms and bunkers.
It is reusable: there is nothing to rebuild or reset between throws, so you simply refill with gas and BBs and it is ready to go again.
Build and durability
The body is full metal and protected by heavy-duty rubber bumpers, so it is built to be thrown onto both grass and hard floors. At around 120mm long and about 0.2kg, it is compact enough to carry in a grenade or utility pouch.
Using it in a game
Agree the timer setting before you go into a building, so you know how long you have between releasing and the grenade going off. Throw or roll it into the room and stay behind cover until it has finished.
The FDE colour is easier to spot on dark floors and grass than a black grenade, which helps when you are picking it up after the game.

Compatibility
The Tornado 2 runs on green gas and fires standard 6mm airsoft BBs. Choose clean, good quality BBs; your site may have rules on BB weight or type for grenades. Most grenade pouches sized for airsoft grenades will carry it, but check the dimensions against your pouch.
Care and maintenance
Use the grenade oil supplied to keep the seals in good condition, following the manual for where and how often to apply it. Fill with green gas in short, steady bursts and do not overfill.
After each game, check the grenade for mud and grit, especially around the outlets, and wipe it clean. Store it in a dry place, and use only clean, good quality BBs, as dirt and broken BBs can cause problems with feeding and spread.
