Description
Ares Ambi-Selector Gears (GB-424 and GB-425)
These are genuine Ares ambidextrous selector gears, Ares part numbers GB-424 and GB-425. Selector gears link the fire selector levers so that the selector can be operated from either side of the rifle, and they are a common part to replace if the selector has become stiff, slips or no longer moves both sides together.
Using factory Ares parts keeps the selector working exactly as it was designed to, with the correct fit to the rest of the mechanism.
How they work
On an ambidextrous selector, turning the lever on one side has to move the lever on the other side as well. The gears transfer that movement between the two sides. If a tooth wears or breaks, the levers can stop lining up with the markings, or the selector may not reach every position.
Fitting
Fitting internal or small external parts usually means partly stripping the replica. Work on a clean, well-lit surface, keep track of small screws and springs, and take photos as you go so you can see how everything fits back together. If you are not confident, an airsoft technician can fit the part for you.
