Ares Amoeba Diamond Precision BBs in 0.45g are heavyweight 6mm airsoft BBs in a 500-round bottle. At this weight a BB is very stable in flight and much less affected by wind, which is why 0.45g is a favourite with bolt-action sniper players who need consistency at longer engagement distances.
Amoeba is Ares’s range for practical, performance-focused players. The 500-round bottle is well suited to the sniper role, where every shot is deliberate and a small supply goes a long way, and it is compact enough to keep in a pouch or kit bag.
Performance
A 0.45g BB carries more momentum than a lighter one, so gusts and light vegetation have less effect on it and it keeps its energy further downrange. To use this weight well, your rifle needs enough power and a hop-up that can lift it; otherwise the BB will drop early. Many sniper players fit a stronger hop-up rubber or upgrade the hop-up unit to get the most from heavy BBs.
Choosing the right weight
If you are moving up in weight, change gradually and re-adjust your hop-up for each step, testing on a range or chrono line where possible. Your site’s power limits are measured with a particular BB weight, so always follow the site’s chrono procedure. If you run both 0.45g and 0.40g, keep them clearly separated, because mixing weights in one magazine makes grouping inconsistent.

Compatibility

Care and maintenance
Keep the bottle closed when not in use, so dust and moisture stay out. Store it somewhere dry, out of direct sunlight. Never reuse BBs picked up from the floor, as dirt and damage can jam or harm your barrel and hop-up rubber. Clean your inner barrel regularly for consistent accuracy.
