This is an Ares Amoeba handguard with a RIS rail, in black. A handguard forms the front end of an AR-style rifle, giving you somewhere to hold the gun and, with rails fitted, a place to mount accessories such as a foregrip, torch, laser or bipod.
Ares is a well-known manufacturer of airsoft replicas and parts, and Amoeba is its in-house range of modern AR-style rifles and accessories. A replacement handguard is useful for repairing a damaged front end, updating the look of a rifle or adding rail space you did not have before.

Care and maintenance
