Ares Amoeba Silencer with Inner Barrel for CCR, CCC & CCP Series
This is a mock silencer from Ares, supplied with an inner barrel, made for the Ares Amoeba CCR, CCC and CCP series of compact M4-style electric rifles. Retailers list it under the code AM-SIL-02. It screws onto the thread of the rifle and gives the short CC-series rifles a longer, more purposeful outline.
The Amoeba CC range is popular for CQB thanks to its short length and light weight. This silencer lets you change the look of your rifle, and because it comes with a matching inner barrel, the barrel can be extended to suit the longer front end.
Build
The silencer is made from aluminium and finished in black. Retailer listings give an external diameter of 36mm, so it stays slim enough not to block the view through low-mounted sights on most set-ups.
As with all airsoft silencers, it is a cosmetic accessory and does not silence the replica, although many players find a mock suppressor softens the sound slightly and makes the rifle look more balanced.
Fitting
Remove the battery and magazine before you start. Remove the existing flash hider and swap the inner barrel following the instructions for your rifle, taking care to keep the hop-up rubber correctly seated. Then screw the silencer onto the thread, checking it goes on straight and is tight before you test fire.
After fitting, adjust the hop-up again and test the rifle on a chronograph, as changing the inner barrel can change the rifle’s performance.

Care and maintenance
Wipe the silencer clean after use and check it remains tight on the thread. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a dry patch or a little silicone oil, and store the rifle with the battery disconnected.
