Description
Ares Amoeba VSR/GBBP/Striker Sniper Series Hop-Up Rubbers (65 Degree – GS-HU-02)
This is an Ares Amoeba hop-up rubber (bucking), part code GS-HU-02, rated at 65 degrees. Ares lists it for VSR-type sniper rifles, gas blowback pistols (GBBP) and the Amoeba Striker sniper series.
The hop-up rubber is one of the cheapest parts in a replica, yet it has more effect on range and accuracy than almost anything else. A worn, split or poorly suited rubber causes flyers, inconsistent hop and lost range. Fitting a fresh rubber of the right hardness is often the first thing an experienced tech will do when a rifle or pistol starts shooting badly.
What the degree rating means
Hop-up rubbers are rated by hardness in degrees. Softer rubbers grip the BB more easily and suit lower-power setups, while harder rubbers hold their shape better under higher power and heavier BBs. At 65 degrees this rubber sits towards the middle of the usual range, making it a sensible choice for many standard setups. If you are not sure which hardness suits your build, start in the middle and adjust from there.
Fitting
Fitting a new rubber means removing the inner barrel from the hop-up chamber, peeling off the old rubber, and stretching the new one over the barrel so the window lines up with the nub. Make sure the rubber sits square with no twists or folds, then refit and set the hop with a few test shots. If you are not confident doing this, ask a tech or bring it to the shop.

Care and maintenance
Keep spare rubbers in a sealed bag away from heat and sunlight. Use silicone oil sparingly and never petroleum-based products, which can damage rubber. Clean the barrel after fitting, and use good quality seamless BBs to avoid tearing the new rubber.
Who is it for?
Ideal for sniper and GBB pistol owners chasing better consistency, techs keeping a stock of spares, and anyone whose replica has started throwing flyers.
Please note: Supplied as a hop-up rubber only; the barrel and hop-up chamber are not included. Always wear suitable eye protection when testing replicas.
