Description
Ares M45 Series Extendable Buffer Tube (Long – Black – BT-012)
This is the long extendable buffer tube made by Ares for their M45 series of electric rifles, in black. The buffer tube is the rear section that the stock slides along, and on many AEGs it is also where the battery lives. Ares offer different lengths of tube for the M45 so players can choose between a compact rifle and more space inside for a larger battery.
Ares describe their M45 extendable buffer tubes as designed to allow a larger, longer battery to be used. If you have found the standard battery space on your M45 restrictive, or you want to run a bigger pack for longer games, a longer tube is the simplest way to solve it. The long version gives the most room inside, so it is the one to choose if battery space is your priority and you do not mind a longer stock.
Why change the buffer tube
Battery space is one of the most common frustrations with compact AEGs. A small battery compartment limits you to small packs, which can mean less capacity and more battery changes during a day of play. Fitting a longer buffer tube gives a larger battery somewhere to sit without resorting to external battery boxes or awkward wiring.
Changing the tube length also changes how the rifle sits in the shoulder, so it is worth thinking about how you like to hold the gun. Players who wear plate carriers or bulky kit often appreciate the extra adjustment, while players who move through buildings a lot may prefer to keep things short.
Fitting
This tube is made for the Ares M45 series, so it is designed to fit without modification to the receiver. Before you start, remove the battery and magazine and make sure the rifle is on safe. Take care with the wiring when removing the old tube so that wires are not pinched or stretched, and check that the stock locks firmly into each position once the new tube is fitted.
If you are not confident fitting parts yourself, our workshop can fit it for you.

Compatibility
Made for the Ares M45 series of electric rifles. It is not a standard M4 buffer tube and is not intended for other platforms. Measure your battery and compare it with the space available before buying a larger pack, and check the stock you intend to use with the tube.
Care and maintenance
Keep the inside of the tube clean and dry, as grit and moisture can damage battery wiring and connectors. Check the battery leads for wear each time you change the battery, and make sure they are not trapped when closing up the stock. Wipe the outside clean after a muddy game.
Who is it for?
This buffer tube suits owners of an Ares M45 series rifle who want room for a larger battery or a different overall length.
Please note: Supplied as the buffer tube only; battery and stock are not included.
