Ares M45X-S with EFCS Gearbox (Tan, With Drum Magazine)
The Ares M45X-S is a compact, M4-style sub machine gun from Ares built on the company’s M45 platform. This version, tan with drum magazine, is finished in tan and fitted with Ares’ EFCS electronic gearbox, giving a light, quick-handling AEG with modern electronics designed in from the start.
The M45X-S takes its magazines in a 9mm SMG style, while its controls follow the familiar AR-15 carbine layout, so anyone used to an M4 will feel at home straight away. Its modular, tool-less design and compact size make it a strong choice for CQB and for players who want a fast, agile primary or backup. This package also includes a drum magazine for extra capacity.
EFCS gearbox
The reinforced gearbox includes an integrated EFCS (Electronic Firing Control System) module, which replaces the traditional connector cube and has a MOSFET built in. It shortens the time between pulling the trigger and the motor starting, giving a crisp response, and allows the use of high-voltage batteries including LiPo. An Ares Slim Motor drives the gearbox.
Fire modes are Semi and Full Auto. Using the Ares EFCS programmer, sold separately, you can change the fire mode sequence and enable a three-round burst.
Build and design
The receiver, RIS handguard, stock latch and stock slide are metal, with steel pins and screws, while the pistol grip and stock are polymer. Flip-up iron sights sit on the top rail. The design allows tool-less assembly and disassembly, and the handguard can be swapped without tools to change the barrel length, so the gun can be configured to suit the site you are playing.
The safety and fire selector are ambidextrous, making the M45X-S comfortable for left- and right-handed players.
Drum magazine
This package includes a drum magazine as well as the gun, giving you a much larger supply of BBs between reloads. A drum is ideal when you want to keep up pressure on objectives without frequent magazine changes.

Compatibility
The M45X-S uses dedicated Ares M45 series magazines, so please make sure spare magazines are made for this platform. The rails accept standard Picatinny accessories. High-voltage batteries including LiPo can be used thanks to the EFCS module; check the battery space in your configuration before buying. The EFCS programmer is a separate purchase.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect the battery whenever you finish playing and store it outside the gun. Clean the inner barrel periodically and use only clean, seamless BBs. Keep the receiver and quick-release points free of grit so the tool-less parts continue to lock up firmly. If you use LiPo batteries, charge them with a balance charger and store them at storage voltage in a fire-resistant bag.
