Description
Ares x Amoeba Striker Knee Capper (FDE)
The Knee Capper is a compact, short-barrelled version of the Amoeba Striker bolt-action spring rifle, made by Ares under its Amoeba brand. It takes the Striker’s chunky, modern styling and cuts it down into a handy package that is small enough to carry as a secondary alongside an AEG, while still giving you the accuracy and quiet, single-shot play style of a bolt-action rifle. This version is finished in flat dark earth (FDE), which blends well with tan and earth-toned kit.
The Striker line is popular because it is light, tough and easy to work on, and it can be upgraded with readily available springs. The Knee Capper keeps those strengths but is far easier to manoeuvre through woodland, buildings and vehicles than a full-length sniper rifle. It suits players who enjoy the challenge of bolt-action play but want something quicker and more agile.
Build and design
The rifle is built around a heavy-grade polymer receiver, which keeps the weight down and resists the knocks and scrapes of regular play. The front end carries the chunky silencer-style barrel shroud of the Striker range, giving the Knee Capper its distinctive stubby profile, with barrel spacers fitted inside the front end.
A fixed stock with a shoulder rest gives a consistent cheek and shoulder position, which is important for accurate shooting, and the compact length makes the rifle easy to stow in a bag or carry on a sling.
Action and trigger
The bolt uses a short-stroke action refined for extra smoothness, so cycling between shots is quick and you can stay on target. The trigger has been redesigned with 90-degree levers and sears, giving a cleaner, more predictable break than many entry-level spring rifles.
Power comes from a spring, so there are no batteries or gas to worry about, and the rifle works the same on a freezing winter morning as it does in midsummer. The Striker platform can be upgraded with AEG-style springs, which makes it easy to adjust if your site has particular limits.
Hop-up and magazine
An adjustable hop-up lets you tune the backspin for your chosen BB weight; bolt-action rifles generally perform best with heavier BBs and a carefully set hop-up. The magazine holds 45 BBs and has an ambidextrous release, so it is quick to change whichever hand you favour.

Compatibility
Uses Amoeba Striker magazines. The Striker platform has a good range of upgrade parts, including springs, hop-up rubbers and barrels; make sure parts are listed for the Amoeba Striker before ordering. For the best accuracy use good quality, heavier BBs (0.28g and upwards are popular for bolt-action rifles) with the hop-up set to suit.
Care and maintenance
Spring rifles are mechanically simple and very reliable, but they still benefit from regular care. Keep the inner barrel clean by running a cleaning rod and dry patch through it every few games; a clean barrel and hop-up rubber are the key to consistent shots.
Always store the rifle uncocked so the main spring is not left under tension, and remove the magazine and any loose BBs after use. Use seamless, good quality BBs. Wipe the outside down after use, dry it properly if it has been wet, and keep it in a padded bag or case. A tiny amount of silicone grease on moving parts during servicing keeps the action smooth; avoid petroleum-based oils, which can damage seals.
Who is it for?
The Knee Capper is for players who enjoy bolt-action play but want a compact, agile rifle for woodland and CQB, and for snipers who want a small secondary that can still reach out accurately. The FDE finish suits tan, coyote and multicam-style loadouts.
Please note: Optics, mounts and BBs are sold separately. Always wear suitable eye and face protection and check your site’s rules, including any minimum engagement distances for bolt-action rifles, before play.
