This Black Owl Gear scope (BO-SSC3301-BK) offers 3x to 9x variable magnification through a 40mm objective lens, finished in black, with an optic fibre illuminated green reticle that stands out against the target.
Black Owl Gear produces affordable optics for airsoft players. The 40mm objective lens gathers plenty of light, which helps the sight picture stay bright in woodland shade and on overcast days. An illuminated reticle is far easier to see against dark foliage than a plain black crosshair, which is exactly where most airsoft snipers and marksmen do their work.
Magnification and reticle
A 3-9x scope is a classic choice for bolt-action sniper rifles and designated marksman rifles. At 3x you still have a reasonably wide view for finding targets, and turning up to 9x lets you study cover, spot movement and place shots carefully at longer airsoft distances.
Optic fibre illumination uses a fibre element to light the reticle in green. Check the product images for the reticle pattern and the scope’s controls before ordering.
Mounting and zeroing
Scope rings or a mount are needed to fit a tube scope to your rail; check the images to see whether rings are shown with this scope, and if not, choose rings that suit both the scope tube and your rail. Set the scope so you get a full, clear picture with your head in its natural position on the stock, without craning forward or back.
Set your hop-up first so your BBs fly flat, then adjust the scope’s windage and elevation to match your point of impact at your preferred zero distance. Because BBs are slow and affected by wind, practise at different ranges to learn where they land.

Compatibility
Suitable for airsoft rifles with a rail and room to mount a full-length scope, such as sniper rifles, DMRs and AEGs. You will need rings or a mount to suit your rail; most airsoft replicas use 20mm rails, but some sniper rifles use 11mm dovetails, so check yours before buying mounts.
Care and maintenance
Brush dust and grit off the lenses before wiping them, then clean with a microfibre lens cloth. Never use solvents or abrasive cloths on lens coatings.
Keep any caps fitted when you are not using the scope and consider a mesh or polycarbonate lens protector for the objective, as a direct BB hit can damage the glass. Let it dry naturally at room temperature if it gets wet, and store it somewhere dry.
