Why use a handstop
Placing the edge of your hand against a handstop gives you the same grip every time you mount the rifle, which helps with consistent aim and quick target transitions. It also stops your hand sliding forward past the end of the handguard.
Because it is low-profile, a handstop adds very little bulk and is less likely to snag than a vertical grip.
Where to position it
Most players set a handstop near the front of the handguard so the support arm is extended, which gives good control when moving and swinging between targets. Shorter players, or those using a compact rifle, may prefer it further back. Try a few positions at home with the replica unloaded before settling on one.
It works well alongside a light or laser mounted further forward, with switches placed where your thumb naturally rests.
