Description
Cyma Tactical M870 Operator (Black, CM355L)
The Cyma Tactical M870 Operator is a short, pump-action spring shotgun styled on the M870, one of the most widely used pump shotguns in the world. Cyma’s M870 family is known for its shell-fed, multi-shot system: each pump and trigger pull fires three BBs at once from a realistic shotgun shell, giving a spread that is very effective at close range.
Spring shotguns need no battery or gas, so they work in any weather and cost nothing to run beyond BBs. That makes the Operator a reliable, low-maintenance choice for CQB and woodland players who want something different from an AEG, as well as for anyone who simply enjoys the feel of racking a pump between shots. The black finish suits almost any loadout.
Build and materials
The CM355L takes the short-barrelled Operator and pairs it with a full-length fixed stock, giving a longer length of pull and a more stable, rifle-like hold. That makes it easier to shoulder consistently and aim carefully at mid-range targets, while the short barrel still keeps the front end light and quick to move. The receiver and outer barrel are polymer (ABS), so it stays light enough to carry all day.
The tactical styling gives the shotgun a modern look, with a compact profile that is easy to manoeuvre through doorways and around barricades. Check the product images for the exact stock, sight and rail layout on this version.
How it works
Like the rest of Cyma’s M870 range, the Operator loads from shotgun shells that each hold a supply of BBs. Fill a shell, insert it into the receiver, rack the pump to cock the spring and chamber the BBs, then pull the trigger to fire three BBs together. Rack the pump fully every time; a short stroke can cause a double feed.
Because the shotgun is spring powered, every shot is cocked by hand. That gives a steady, predictable rate of fire and makes each shot count, which suits aggressive room clearing and ambush-style play where you want to hit hard and then move.
Using it on the field
The three-BB spread makes hits easier at close quarters, particularly against moving targets. Carry spare loaded shells in a shell holder or pouch so reloads are quick, and practise loading by feel. The shotgun also makes an effective secondary for snipers and support players who want a compact, quick-handling backup.

Compatibility
The Operator loads from Cyma M870-style shotgun shells; spare Cyma M870 shells are the safest choice, and you should check that any other shells are listed for Cyma M870 shotguns before ordering. Use 6mm BBs; 0.20g or 0.25g seamless BBs work well. Accessories such as slings and shell holders vary with the stock and rail fitted, so check the product images for mounting points before buying add-ons.
Care and maintenance
Spring shotguns need very little maintenance. Always store the shotgun uncocked so the spring is not left under tension, and empty the shells and any loose BBs after play, since BBs can remain in the feed path. Keep shells clean and dry; grit in a shell is a common cause of misfeeds.
Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs, and run a cleaning rod and dry patch through the barrels every so often to keep the spread consistent. Rack the pump fully on every shot; short-stroking a shell-fed shotgun can cause double feeds or jams.
Wipe the outside down after use, dry it if it has been out in the rain, and store it in a gun bag away from heat and direct sunlight. Avoid petroleum-based oils; a little silicone oil on moving parts is all it needs.
Who is it for?
The CM355L suits CQB and woodland players who want a dependable, battery-free shotgun with a three-BB spread, and players looking for a compact secondary or something more involving than an AEG. The full stock suits players who prefer a steady, shouldered aim.
Please note: Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s rules on shotguns and minimum engagement distances before play.
