Description
Double Bell M416 AEG (Black – Long – BY-812)
The Double Bell BY-812 is a black, long-barrelled M416-style electric rifle (AEG). The 416 has become one of the most popular rifle designs in airsoft, combining the familiar M4 layout and controls with the distinctive 416 profile, and this long version gives it a balanced, full-length look.
Double Bell is known for offering good value replicas, and its 416 range is a popular way to get the look of a modern special forces rifle without a high price tag. The BY-812 suits new players looking for a dependable first rifle, as well as regular players wanting a spare or a rifle they can customise. It is the black counterpart to the tan BY-812S.
Design and handling
As a 416-style rifle, it follows the M4 layout, so the fire selector, magazine release and charging handle are where most players expect them. The longer barrel and handguard give a more traditional rifle silhouette and a little more length for mounting accessories, and the M4-style stock and pistol grip will feel familiar to anyone who has used an M4.
416-style handguards are normally railed for standard 20mm accessories (check the product images for this version), so a torch, laser, grip or bipod can be added as your loadout develops, and the top rail accepts a red dot or magnified optic.
Performance
Like most M4-family AEGs, the rifle fires on safe, semi and full auto and has an adjustable hop-up to put backspin on the BB. Spend a few minutes at the range setting the hop for your BB weight before your first game, as it makes a real difference to range and accuracy.
Because it shares its layout with the M4, the rifle benefits from a huge choice of magazines, accessories and upgrade parts, although parts can vary between manufacturers, so always check compatibility first.
Customisation
The 416 platform is one of the easiest to personalise. Optics, slings, grips and muzzle devices let you set the rifle up for woodland or CQB use, and the black finish works with almost any loadout. Check the product images to see exactly how this version is equipped before planning accessories.
Getting started
Charge your battery on a proper charger and fit it following the manual. Load a magazine and test-fire at a safe backstop, starting with the hop-up off and bringing it up gradually until shots fly flat. A few minutes of zeroing at the range makes a big difference to your confidence on the field.
Practise magazine changes and battery swaps at home, and get the rifle chronographed at the site before your first game.

The rails take standard 20mm accessories. Check the battery space and connector before buying a battery, and contact us if you are unsure about upgrades or parts.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it away from the rifle, and charge LiPo batteries only on a proper balance charger under supervision. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a dry cloth patch every few games, as dirt and broken BB fragments are the main causes of flyers. Stick to good quality seamless BBs of a consistent weight.
Check screws, the flash hider and any mounts before each game day, and store the rifle somewhere dry. Leave the hop-up at a light setting in storage, and if the rifle has an electronic trigger unit, a fully charged battery helps it read the trigger cleanly.
Who is it for?
It suits new players wanting a capable first rifle, players who like the 416 look in a longer configuration, and anyone wanting an affordable rifle to customise.
Please note: A battery and charger are not listed as included, so please check before ordering. Always wear suitable eye protection when using or testing any airsoft replica.
