Description
Double Eagle M33 SMG Spring Pistol Rifle (Silver)
The Double Eagle M33 is a compact, spring-powered airsoft SMG finished in silver. It is a simple, inexpensive replica aimed at newcomers and casual shooters who want something fun to plink with in the garden, without the cost of batteries, chargers or gas.
Double Eagle is a long-established maker of affordable airsoft replicas, and its spring guns are a common first purchase for people trying airsoft for the first time. The M33 follows that idea: easy to understand, easy to use and cheap to run, so the money you save on power sources can go on BBs, targets and good eye protection.
How a spring airsoft gun works
Inside a spring replica is a piston and spring. Cocking the gun pulls the piston back and compresses the spring; when you pull the trigger, the spring drives the piston forward, pushing a burst of air through the barrel that sends the BB on its way. Because the gun is cocked by hand before every shot, it fires one BB per cocking action.
This makes spring guns very forgiving to own. There are no batteries to charge or forget, no gas to buy, and cold weather does not affect them the way it affects gas replicas. You can pick it up after months in a cupboard and it will still work.
Handling and use
The M33’s small SMG layout makes it easy for newer shooters to hold and aim. It is well suited to shooting at paper targets, tin cans or BB traps in the garden, and to learning the basics of safe handling: muzzle awareness, keeping your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire, and checking the gun is clear when you are finished. The deliberate cock-and-shoot rhythm encourages careful, aimed shots rather than spraying BBs, which is a good habit to build.
Getting started
Set up a safe shooting area before your first session: a BB trap or a sturdy box filled with old cloth behind the target catches most BBs and makes clearing up easy. Pick a spot with nothing breakable behind the target and where no one can walk into the line of fire. Start close, around five to ten metres, tuck the stock firmly into your shoulder, line up the sights and squeeze the trigger slowly. Move the target further back as your groups tighten. When you finish, remove the magazine, fire a clearing shot into the trap and store the gun uncocked.
Key features
- Spring-powered, cocked by hand before each shot
- No batteries, charger or gas required
- Compact SMG-style design
- Silver finish
- Works in any weather, including cold days
- Very low running costs
- Simple mechanism with little to maintain
- A straightforward introduction to airsoft target shooting
Compatibility
Uses standard 6mm airsoft BBs. Lightweight BBs, such as 0.12g or 0.20g, generally suit low-powered spring replicas best; always use good-quality seamless BBs, as cheap, misshapen BBs can jam a small spring mechanism. Magazines and parts are specific to this model, so check with us before buying spares.
Care and maintenance
Do not leave the gun cocked when you put it away, as storing it with the spring compressed weakens the spring over time. Keep it clean and dry; if it gets damp, wipe it down and let it dry at room temperature. Never dry-fire it repeatedly without BBs, and avoid oiling the barrel. If a BB jams, remove the magazine and clear it with a cleaning rod rather than forcing it through.
Who is it for?
Beginners and casual shooters who want an inexpensive, no-fuss replica for target practice at home, and anyone wanting to learn safe handling before stepping up to electric or gas replicas.
Please note: Always wear suitable eye protection when using airsoft replicas, and make sure anyone nearby does too.
