Description
Double Eagle M83A1 Entry Level Airsoft AEG (Blue)
The Double Eagle M83A1 is an entry-level, full-size M4-style electric airsoft rifle with a RIS front end, finished in blue. It belongs to Double Eagle’s low-powered electric gun range, which is designed as an affordable, simple introduction to electric airsoft rather than a full skirmish rifle.
Because it is blue rather than black, it is easy to tell apart from a real firearm, and it suits younger players at supervised venues, back-garden target shooting, family fun and anyone curious about airsoft who is not ready to spend on a full-power AEG.
What a low-powered electric gun is
A low-powered electric gun, often called an LPEG, uses a small battery-powered motor and gearbox to fire BBs, just like a full-size AEG, but at much lower power and with a simpler, lighter mechanism. That makes it quiet, easy to use and very cheap to run, but it also means it is not designed for upgrading or for regular use at skirmish sites.
For target practice, plinking at cans and paper targets, and learning the basics of safe handling, an LPEG is a sensible place to start.
Design and handling
The M83A1 follows the familiar M4 profile, with a RIS-style railed handguard, a pistol grip and an M4-style stock. It is light and easy to hold, so it suits smaller and younger shooters, and the rails give you somewhere to fit a light torch or toy accessories for fun.
Take a few minutes to learn how the magazine and battery fit before you start, and always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. If you later decide to move on to skirmishing, the M83A1 remains useful as a practice and garden gun, and the handling habits you learn with it carry straight over to a full-size AEG.
Getting the best from it
Use light, good quality BBs and set up a safe target area with a backstop that catches BBs rather than letting them bounce back. Indoors, a cardboard box filled with old cloth makes a good BB trap; outdoors, a hedge or fence with a box target works well.
Pick up spent BBs afterwards, especially in gardens used by pets or small children.

Compatibility
The M83A1 uses its own magazines and battery, which are not interchangeable with standard full-power AEGs. Look for parts listed for the Double Eagle M83 series.
Light 6mm BBs suit low-powered guns best; heavier BBs will not travel as far.
Care and maintenance
Unplug or remove the battery after use and store it separately, charging it only with a suitable charger and never leaving it charging unattended.
Use clean, seamless BBs, and wipe the gun down after use, especially if it has been outdoors. Keep it in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
Low-powered guns are not designed to be upgraded or opened up, so if it stops working properly, contact us rather than taking it apart.
Who is it for?
The M83A1 is ideal for beginners, younger players under adult supervision, garden target shooting and anyone after an inexpensive, easy-going introduction to electric airsoft.
