The Dytac SLR Airsoft AK74 is a modern, full metal AK74-style electric rifle, finished in black, built by Dytac with styling from SLR Rifleworks, the American maker known for its modern AK handguards and furniture. It combines a stamped steel receiver and real markings with a long M-LOK handguard, creating a contemporary AK that suits modern tactical loadouts.

Build and materials
The receiver and dust cover are stamped steel, giving the rifle a proper AK feel and a reassuring weight of about 3.3kg. The handguard is a metal M-LOK unit of about 13.5 inches, with three rail sections and holes for QD sling swivels, and an additional mounting rail on the gas tube area provides space for an optic. The metal folding stock folds to shorten the rifle for transport.
Overall length is about 695mm with the stock folded and about 890mm with it extended, and the outer barrel is anodised. The muzzle has a 14mm counter-clockwise thread for suppressors and tracer units.
Performance and internals
Inside is a metal Version 3 gearbox with metal gears, 8mm bearings and a quick-change spring system, so the spring can be swapped easily if you need to tune the rifle to a site’s limits. A copper 6.03mm inner barrel and a metal adjustable hop-up chamber help consistency.
The rifle fires on semi and full auto and is supplied with a 500-round high-capacity magazine. It uses a small connector and the battery sits in the body; the listed battery is a 9.6V LL-shaped pack, so check the space before choosing a battery.
Getting started
Fully charge a suitable battery before first use, then fit it as described in the manual and connect it carefully. Load a magazine, wind it if it is a high-capacity type, and start with the hop-up turned off. Fire a few shots at a safe target and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.
Have the rifle chronographed at your site before you play, and keep a note of the hop setting that suits your favourite BB weight so you can return to it quickly.

Compatibility
The rifle takes AK-pattern AEG magazines; most brands fit, but very tight or loose fits can occur between makers, so try a new magazine before relying on it in a game. The M-LOK handguard accepts standard M-LOK accessories and rail sections, and the 14mm CCW thread suits most airsoft suppressors and tracers. The Version 3 gearbox accepts standard V3 AK parts.
Care and maintenance
Remove the battery whenever you are not using the rifle, and never leave a LiPo charging unattended. Run a cleaning rod with a clean patch through the inner barrel regularly to keep accuracy consistent, and only use clean, seamless BBs of a decent brand.
After muddy or wet games, wipe the outside down and let the rifle dry naturally before casing it. Check that rails, accessories and the stock are tight, and have any gearbox work carried out by an experienced technician.
