Description
Enola Gaye Twin Vent II Smoke Grenade White TWV40W
The Enola Gaye Twin Vent II (TWV40W) is a slim, tube-shaped smoke grenade that releases white smoke from both ends at once. The result is a fast, vivid plume that builds very quickly, which is exactly what you want when you need cover in a hurry or a short, punchy burst of colour for a photo.
Enola Gaye are one of the most widely used names in coloured smoke for airsoft, paintball, photography and film. The Twin Vent II is the second generation of their twin vent design, and its quick release makes it a favourite for reactive situations, where a slow-building cloud would arrive too late to help.
How it works
Ignition is by Enola Gaye’s Wire Pull system: hold the tube firmly, pull the ring hard at 90 degrees to the side of the unit, then throw or place it. Smoke vents from both ends of the tube, so it builds a cloud faster than a single-vent design. Enola Gaye state that it produces no flame and that the casing stays cool enough to handle with gloves.
The manufacturer quotes around 25 seconds of smoke (plus or minus 10 seconds). The tube is about 40mm in diameter and 160mm long and weighs around 130g, so it slips easily into a pouch, pocket or bag.
On the field and on set
On the airsoft or paintball field, the Twin Vent II is ideal for quick screening: break contact, cover a dash between positions or blind a defender just long enough for your team to move. The white colour also works well for signalling.
Photographers and film makers like the Twin Vent II for short, intense bursts of colour, such as action shots, sports, music videos and celebrations, where the smoke needs to be in frame quickly and then clear.

Care and storage
Store pyrotechnics in their original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources, open flames and direct sunlight, and well out of the reach of children. Do not carry loose units where the pull ring could snag on webbing or kit; a dedicated grenade pouch with a closed lid is the best way to carry them on the field.
Never attempt to take a unit apart, modify it or relight one that has failed to work. If a unit does not go off, leave it where it is for a few minutes, then pick it up with gloves and hand it to a marshal. Allow spent casings to cool fully before picking them up, and take them away with you for disposal rather than leaving them on site.
Enola Gaye advise outdoor use only, keeping at least 2m away once it is running, wearing gloves and eye protection and avoiding breathing in the smoke. Because smoke leaves both ends, make sure neither end is pointing at you or anyone nearby when you pull the ring, and keep it more than about 30cm from surfaces and clothing to avoid staining.
Who is it for?
The Twin Vent II suits players who want fast, reactive cover from a light, easy-to-carry grenade, and creatives who need a quick, vivid burst of white smoke for photos and video.
Please note: This is a pyrotechnic product. Use it outdoors only, with the permission of the site or landowner, follow the instructions printed on the unit, and always wear eye protection and gloves when handling it.
