Description
FMA Wire Mesh Spectre 1.0 Mask (TB558)
The FMA Wire Mesh Spectre 1.0 Mask (TB558) is a themed face mask from FMA’s wire mesh range, combining a distinctive design with a mesh eye area. The Spectre name and its exact styling are best seen in the product images.
Themed mesh masks are a popular way to add some personality to a loadout while still covering the face. They suit players who want to look different on the field, as well as anyone who has struggled with lenses fogging up in the past.
Mesh eye protection
Wire mesh eye areas stop a whole BB and never fog, which is why many players like them for hot days, hard running and indoor games. The trade-off is that mesh does not stop everything: small fragments of a shattered BB, grit and dust can still pass through the holes.
For that reason, many players wear a pair of impact-rated shooting glasses or full-seal goggles underneath, and some sites require exactly that. Always check your site’s rules on mesh before you rely on it as your only eye protection.
Fit and wear
Adjust the straps so the mask sits snugly and evenly, with no pressure points over your nose or cheeks, and make sure it stays in place when you move quickly. Check that you have a clear view through the mesh and can line up your sights comfortably.
If you wear a helmet, cap or headset, try them together with the mask before game day.

Care and maintenance
Brush off dirt and dried mud with a soft brush after use, and wipe the mask over with a damp cloth. Let it dry naturally at room temperature before packing it away, away from direct heat, which can warp plastic or fibreglass parts.
Before every game, inspect the mesh for dents, broken wires or any area that has pushed in or pulled away from the frame, and check straps and fixings for wear. A damaged mesh panel should be replaced before the mask is used again. Store it in a bag so it is not crushed under heavier kit.
Who is it for?
For players who want a distinctive themed mask with fog-free mesh eyes, for skirmish days, themed games and events.
Please note: Wire mesh stops whole BBs but not fragments or grit. Wear suitable impact-rated eye protection where your site requires it.
