Description
Galaxy G2 Spring Metal Pistol (Gold)
The Galaxy G2 is a metal spring pistol finished in gold. Galaxy is one of the best-known makers of affordable metal spring pistols, and its range is popular with newcomers, collectors and anyone who wants a solid replica that is cheap to run. The G2 brings together a metal build, a striking finish and the simplicity of a manually cocked spring action, so there is no gas, CO2 or battery to buy.
Rack the slide, take aim and fire. The gold finish makes it an eye-catching piece for a collection or display, as well as a fun pistol to shoot. It is equally at home as a plinker for back-garden target practice and as a training aid for learning safe pistol handling.
Build and materials
The metal construction gives the pistol a satisfying weight in the hand and a rigid, well-built feel that plastic spring pistols cannot match. That weight also helps steady the pistol for careful, aimed shots. Being metal, it is worth keeping it dry and giving it an occasional wipe with a lightly oiled cloth to keep the finish in good condition.
How it works
Pull the slide back to compress the main spring and chamber a BB from the magazine, then squeeze the trigger: the spring drives a piston forward and pushes a burst of air behind the BB. It is one shot per cocking stroke, and because the power comes from a spring rather than gas, the pistol performs the same in winter as in summer and there is nothing to refill.
The deliberate rhythm of a spring pistol is a good way to build shooting skills. With no recoil and very little noise, you can concentrate on a consistent grip, a clean sight picture and a smooth trigger squeeze, and see exactly where each BB lands.
Getting the best from it
Load the magazine one BB at a time and do not force in more than it is designed to hold. Shoot at a safe backstop, such as a purpose-made BB trap or a box packed with old cloth, so that BBs are caught rather than bouncing back. Paper targets at five to ten metres make a good start; move back as your groups tighten.
If accuracy drops off, check the BBs first, as dirty or damaged BBs are the usual cause, then give the inner barrel a quick clean.

Compatibility
Fires standard 6mm airsoft BBs; 0.12g to 0.20g BBs are a sensible range for a spring pistol. Use the magazine supplied with the pistol, as magazines from gas pistols or other models will not fit. It is a spring replica, so it does not use gas, CO2 or batteries. If you plan to use a holster, check the fit before relying on it.
Care and maintenance
Spring pistols are about as simple as airsoft gets, which makes them very easy to look after. Wipe the pistol down after use, keep it free of grit and moisture, and run a cleaning rod with a clean patch through the inner barrel occasionally to keep it shooting straight. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs; light 0.12g BBs and poorly made ammunition are the most common causes of jams and inconsistent shots.
Do not store the pistol cocked, as leaving the spring compressed for long periods weakens it over time. Avoid dry-firing (firing without BBs) more than you need to, keep the magazine spring in good order by not leaving it fully loaded for weeks at a time, and store the pistol indoors at room temperature.
Who is it for?
The G2 suits collectors who want a distinctive gold pistol, and beginners looking for a solid, inexpensive metal spring pistol for target practice at home.
Please note: BBs are not included unless stated above. Always wear suitable eye and face protection and check the safety rules at your site before play.
