Guarder Anti-Heat Selector Plate for G3 Series (GE-07-14)
The Guarder GE-07-14 is an anti-heat selector plate for G3 series AEGs. The selector plate sits on the side of the gearbox and carries the electrical contacts that switch the rifle between safe, semi and full auto, so it is a key part of the trigger circuit.
As its name suggests, this Guarder plate is designed to cope better with heat than a standard plate. Heat at the selector contacts builds up when a lot of current passes through them, which can soften or distort the plate and lead to poor contact or a rifle that stops firing on one setting.
When to replace it
A worn or heat-damaged selector plate can cause a rifle to fire only on one mode, cut out intermittently, or fail to fire at all. Burnt or blackened contacts are a clear sign that the plate needs replacing.
Higher-voltage batteries and fast-firing set-ups increase the load on the selector contacts, so an upgraded plate is a sensible choice when moving to a more demanding battery or motor.
Fitting
The selector plate is fitted on the outside of the gearbox shell, but the gearbox usually has to come out of the rifle to reach it. Disconnect the battery, note how the plate engages with the selector and trigger, and make sure the contacts line up before reassembly. Test all modes carefully after fitting.

Compatibility
Made for G3 series AEGs. Selector plates differ between platforms, so this will not fit M4 or AK gearboxes. G3 AEGs from different makers may vary, so compare with your original plate before ordering.
Care and maintenance
Consider fitting a MOSFET if you use a LiPo battery, as it takes much of the current away from the trigger and selector contacts and helps them last longer.
Always remove the battery after use, keep contacts free from grease, and avoid rapid half-pulls of the trigger that cause arcing.
