Description
Guarder Gearbox Spring Set For Ver. II
The Guarder Gearbox Spring Set for Version II is a set of replacement springs for Version 2 AEG gearboxes, the gearbox used in M4, M16, MP5 and many other popular AEGs. These small springs return the moving parts inside the gearbox to their resting positions after each shot, so they have a big influence on how reliably a rifle cycles.
Small gearbox springs are easy to lose when a gearbox is opened, and they weaken over time. Guarder is a well-known upgrade brand, and a complete set lets you refresh the springs in one go during a service or rebuild rather than hunting for individual parts.
Why replace the small springs
The small springs in a gearbox work on parts such as the trigger, the cut-off lever, the tappet plate and the anti-reversal latch. When one of them weakens, the rifle may fire on its own, fail to reset, double-feed or stop in semi-auto. Tracing faults like these often leads back to a tired spring.
Replacing the whole set at once is good practice during a rebuild, because a gearbox that has done thousands of shots is likely to have more than one worn spring.
Fitting
Many of these springs are under tension and can fly off when the shell is opened, so work slowly over a clean surface, ideally in a tray. Disconnect the battery and decompress the main spring first. Photograph each stage as you strip the gearbox so you can see where every spring belongs.
Key features
- Guarder replacement spring set
- For Version 2 AEG gearboxes
- Refreshes the small internal return springs
- Helps cure cycling, trigger and feeding faults
- Saves sourcing springs individually
- Handy to keep in a technician’s spares box
Compatibility
For Version 2 gearboxes. The exact springs supplied are shown in the product photos; compare them with the springs in your gearbox, as some makers use their own parts. Version 3 gearboxes use different springs in places, so check your gearbox version before ordering.
Care and maintenance
Keep the battery out of the rifle when not in use and decompress the main spring before storage. Clean and lightly re-grease the gearbox when servicing, keeping grease off the electrical contacts.
Store spare springs in a labelled bag so they are easy to identify later.
Who is it for?
For technicians and players servicing or rebuilding a Version 2 gearbox who want to replace worn small springs in one go.
Please note: Main spring is not part of a typical small-spring set; check the photos for exact contents. Always wear suitable eye protection when testing a replica.
