Description
Guarder Steel Cut Off Lever Version 3 Gearbox
This Guarder steel cut-off lever is a replacement for Version 3 AEG gearboxes, the type used in AK, G36 and many other AEGs. The cut-off lever (also called the yaw control bar) is the part that makes semi-automatic fire possible: it breaks the trigger circuit once a shot has cycled, so the rifle fires only once per pull.
Stock cut-off levers can wear where they meet the gears, especially in rifles with high-speed or high-torque set-ups. A steel lever from Guarder is a durable replacement when the original has worn or broken.
Signs of a worn cut-off lever
A rifle that fires short bursts in semi-auto, or that will not fire in semi at all while full auto still works, often has a cut-off lever problem. The lever is pushed by a cam on the sector gear, so wear on either part affects semi-auto timing.
A worn lever can also let the trigger contacts close at the wrong moment, causing extra arcing on the contacts. Replacing it with a steel part restores clean semi-auto operation.
Fitting
The lever sits inside the gearbox, so the Version 3 gearbox has to be removed and opened. Remove the battery, decompress the spring and note the position of the cut-off lever spring before lifting anything out. Test semi-auto carefully after reassembly.
Key features
- Steel cut-off lever (yaw control bar)
- From Guarder
- For Version 3 AEG gearboxes
- Restores reliable semi-auto fire
- Durable replacement for worn levers
- Suits rebuilds and high-speed set-ups
Compatibility
For Version 3 gearboxes only. Version 2 gearboxes use a different lever. Check your rifle’s gearbox type and compare with the original part, as some makers use non-standard internals.
Care and maintenance
Grease the contact point between the cut-off lever and the sector gear lightly when servicing, and check both for wear.
Avoid rapid partial trigger pulls and always remove the battery after use. A MOSFET reduces arcing at the trigger contacts and is worth fitting with a LiPo battery.
Who is it for?
For Version 3 AEG owners and technicians fixing semi-auto faults or building a durable gearbox.
Please note: Cut-off lever only; spring not stated as included. Always wear suitable eye protection when testing a replica.
