The Guarder Switch Assembly GE-07-28 is a replacement trigger switch unit for AK-47S pattern AEGs. It is the electrical switch inside the gearbox that closes the motor circuit when the trigger is pulled, and it is one of the parts most likely to wear in a well-used rifle.

Why switches wear
Every time the trigger closes the circuit, a small spark jumps between the contacts. Over thousands of shots this erodes the contact surfaces, increasing resistance and making the trigger less reliable. Higher-voltage batteries speed up the process.
Typical symptoms include the rifle failing to fire on some pulls, hesitating before firing, or only working when the trigger is pressed fully home. A new switch assembly restores clean contacts and a crisp response.
Fitting
The switch assembly sits inside the gearbox, so the gearbox has to be removed and opened. Disconnect the battery, note how the wiring is routed, and resolder connections neatly if required. If you are new to gearbox work, ask a technician to fit it.

Care and maintenance
Match your battery to your rifle’s set-up and consider a MOSFET if you use a LiPo battery, as it takes the load off the trigger contacts and greatly extends their life.
Always disconnect and remove the battery after play, and avoid feathering the trigger with rapid half-pulls, which causes extra arcing at the contacts.
