Description
H&K MP5 RIS Full Metal AEG Standard (Umarex/Cyma, Black, CM041L)
This is an H&K MP5 RIS electric SMG, licensed and produced by Umarex and Cyma in Cyma’s Standard range, listed as full metal and finished in black under the code CM041L. RIS stands for rail interface system, and a railed MP5 gives you room to add torches, lasers, grips and optics to one of the most popular SMG platforms in airsoft.
Few submachine guns are as recognisable as the Heckler & Koch MP5. Since the 1960s it has served with police and special forces around the world in a whole family of variants, and that variety carries over into airsoft, where there is an MP5 to suit almost every playing style.
This version is a good choice for players who like to set up their SMG to suit their own style, whether that is a red dot and torch for CQB or a fuller set-up for milsim.
Rails and set-up
A railed handguard turns the MP5 into a flexible platform. Mount a torch for dark buildings, a vertical or angled grip for control, and a laser or compact optic, and arrange them so your support hand sits comfortably. Please check the product images for the stock type, rail layout and sights of this version.
Keep the set-up light, as an SMG’s quick handling is a big part of its appeal, and check that accessories do not block the cocking handle or the magazine release.
Handling
The MP5’s balance and controls feel natural from the first time you pick it up. Practise moving with the replica shouldered, reloading quickly and switching fire modes without looking, and you will find it quick and confident in close quarters.
How it works
An AEG (airsoft electric gun) uses a rechargeable battery to power a motor, which turns a set of gears inside the gearbox. The gears draw back a piston against a spring and then release it, and the rush of air pushes the BB through the hop-up and down the inner barrel. AEGs are the most popular type of replica because they are consistent in all weathers and cheap to run, with no gas to buy.
Getting started
Before your first game, charge a suitable battery fully, fit it as the manual describes and connect it carefully. Load a magazine and start with the hop-up turned off, then fire a few shots at a safe backstop and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.

Compatibility
MP5-pattern AEG magazines fit this replica; Cyma MP5 magazines are the safest choice, and most mainstream MP5 AEG magazines work, though it is worth trying a new magazine before relying on it in a game. We also stock Cyma MP5 mid-cap magazines and MP5 speedloader adaptors.
The battery’s size, type and connector are not given in our listing, and MP5 variants differ in where the battery fits, so please check the manual or contact us before buying a battery. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it away from the replica, and charge LiPo batteries only on a proper balance charger that you are supervising. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a dry patch every few games, as dirt and broken BB fragments are the main causes of flyers.
Use good quality seamless BBs of a consistent weight, check external screws and accessories before each game day, and store the replica somewhere dry. Leave internal gearbox and electronics work to someone experienced with AEGs.
Who is it for?
This MP5 RIS is for players who want a licensed MP5 they can set up with their own choice of torch, laser, grip and optic, for CQB, milsim or general skirmish use.
Please note: The listing does not say whether a battery, charger or spare magazines are included, so please ask if you need them. Always wear suitable eye protection when using any airsoft replica, and have it chronographed at your site before play.
