What the lip does
The magazine lip is the small component at the top of the magazine that holds the ammunition in place and guides each round towards the chamber as it feeds. When to replace it
Signs that this part may need replacing include rounds spilling out of the top of the magazine, double feeds or misfeeds, or a lip that is visibly bent, chipped or cracked. Working on a CO2 magazine is straightforward as long as you take your time. Always remove the CO2 capsule and any ammunition before you start, keep small screws and springs in a tray, and take a photo of each stage so reassembly is easy.
