Build and materials
The gold finish makes this rifle stand out on the field and in a collection, while the familiar M4 layout means controls, magazines and accessories all work the way you would expect. Lancer Tactical’s M4s are known for robust construction that copes well with the knocks of regular skirmishing.

Performance and internals
Like Lancer Tactical’s other M4 rifles, it is built around a Version 2 gearbox, the most common AEG gearbox design, so spare and upgrade parts are easy to find. A quick-change spring system lets you swap the main spring without stripping the gearbox, and a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel with a rotary hop-up helps with consistency and range.
Set the hop-up to suit the BB weight you are using: increase it until BBs fly flat and straight, and back it off if they curl upwards.
Handling and ergonomics
The short layout keeps the rifle compact and manoeuvrable, which helps in buildings and dense woodland and makes it easy to carry all day. The M4-style stock is comfortable to shoulder whether you are wearing light kit or a plate carrier.
The standard M4 controls mean reloading and switching between safe, semi and full auto quickly become second nature, and rails give room for a red dot, torch or grip.

Compatibility
As an M4-pattern AEG it accepts most standard M4 AEG magazines, so you can choose between mid-capacity magazines, which are quiet and do not rattle, and high-capacity magazines for more rounds between reloads. Its Version 2 gearbox takes standard V2 parts, and the rails accept the wide range of optics, lights and grips made for M4 rifles. When buying internal upgrades, check that parts are listed as suitable for Version 2 M4 gearboxes, and check the available battery space and the connector before buying a battery.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect and remove the battery after every game, and never store the rifle with the battery plugged in. Charge batteries with a suitable smart charger and store them at a sensible storage charge in a cool, dry place. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs, as cheap or damaged BBs are the main cause of jams and hop-up wear.
Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and a lightly dampened cloth to keep accuracy consistent, and wipe the outside down after wet or muddy games. Fire a few shots on semi to unload the spring before putting it away, and keep magazines clean and free of grit.
