Description
Laylax First Factory CNC Aluminum Strike Hop Arm for Tokyo Marui M4A1 MWS GBB
This First Factory Strike Hop Arm is a CNC-machined aluminium replacement for the hop arm in the Tokyo Marui M4A1 MWS gas blowback rifle. Laylax says the original arm gives weak hop and lacks range for long shots, so the Strike Hop Arm has a redesigned shape that gives a stronger hop effect.
LayLax is a long-established Japanese maker of airsoft parts, with sub-brands including Prometheus for internal upgrades, Nine Ball for gas pistol parts and First Factory for external and replacement parts.
What it does
The hop arm presses on the hop-up rubber to put backspin on the BB, which is what keeps it flying flat at range. With a stronger arm you can use heavier BBs and reach further. Laylax notes that the arm can still be set to a non-hop position, so the rifle remains usable for close-range play as well as long shots.
Laylax lists it for the Tokyo Marui gas blowback M4A1 MWS, CQBR and M4A1 Carbine.
Fitting
Laylax’s fitting guide starts with the hop dial set to zero. The front end of the rifle then comes apart: the compensator, handguard, front sight, barrel dummy nut, handguard rings and barrel base nut, after which the chamber comes out of the outer barrel. The new arm replaces the original hop lever B (MGG2-27), and Laylax notes that the cushion rubber tube (MGG2-28) is not needed. Reassemble in reverse order, using the Tokyo Marui manual as a reference.
Removing the barrel nut needs a suitable wrench. If you are not confident working on your replica, have the part fitted by an experienced technician.

Care and maintenance
After fitting, set the hop gradually with the BB weight you normally use, starting from zero, until shots fly flat. Keep the chamber and hop rubber clean and free of oil, which can make the hop inconsistent. Use only silicone-based lubricants on the rifle’s seals.
Have the rifle chronographed after any change to the hop-up or internals.
Who is it for?
It suits Tokyo Marui MWS owners who want more range and better performance with heavier BBs, without changing the rest of the hop-up.
Please note: Tools are not included.
