Laylax Nine Ball Direct Mount Aegis HG Optic Shield for Umarex Glock GBB Series
The Nine Ball Direct Mount Aegis HG is a sight protector for pistol red dots, made for the Umarex Glock gas blowback series. Its clear, angled shield sits in front of a mini red dot and takes the hits from incoming BBs, which can otherwise crack or chip the lens of an expensive optic.
Nine Ball is LayLax’s gas pistol parts brand, and the Aegis line of shields is a well-known way to protect optics in airsoft.
Design
A retailer describes it as a sight protector with a bulletproof shield and mount base, combining red dot mounting and protection while keeping the weight low. The angled clear shield is designed to improve BB deflection. The body is listed as plastic in black, with a length of about 60mm and a very low weight.
Because it mounts directly to the pistol, the shield moves with the slide and stays correctly lined up with the sight.
Fitting
Install the mount base on the pistol as shown in the instructions, then fit your red dot and the shield. Check that the slide still cycles freely and that the shield does not touch the optic. Test fire at a safe backstop before your next game.

Compatibility
A retailer lists compatibility with the Umarex (VFC) Glock 17 series, Glock 18C, Glock 19 series, Glock 19X, Glock 34 Gen 4 and Glock 45, and the RWA Agency Arms EXA. It is not made for Tokyo Marui Glocks. Check that your red dot fits the mount before ordering, or contact us.
Care and maintenance
Clean the shield with a soft, damp cloth and avoid solvents, which can cloud clear plastics. Replace the shield if it becomes heavily pitted, as that reduces clarity. Check the mount screws are tight before each game day.
If you are not confident working on your replica, have the part fitted by an experienced technician.
