This Laylax Prometheus EG barrel is a 6.03mm tight bore precision inner barrel, 387.5mm long, made to suit the Krytac LVOA-C. It is a straightforward upgrade from a standard inner barrel, designed to give more consistent shots and improved accuracy.
Laylax is one of Japan’s best-known upgrade part makers, and Prometheus is its precision barrel and hop-up range. This 387.5mm version is part of the KRYTAC x Prometheus collaboration, made in the length Krytac uses for this model, so it is a direct replacement rather than a universal barrel that needs cutting or spacing. Laylax bases its EG series on Tokyo Marui specification barrels and designs this version with an expanded hop window to work with a variety of hop nubs and tensioners.
Stainless steel precision
The EG barrel is made from stainless steel rather than the brass or aluminium used for many stock barrels. Stainless steel is hard and resistant to accidental bending, so the bore stays straight even if the front end of your replica takes a knock, and it keeps its accuracy without relying on a coating. The 6.03mm tight bore gives the BB a close, consistent fit as it travels down the barrel. Laylax quotes a bore tolerance of plus or minus 0.01mm.
Longer barrel, steadier shots
The LVOA-C is the carbine-length LVOA, and its longer inner barrel gives it a natural advantage outdoors. Pairing it with a stainless steel precision barrel helps make the most of that length, giving a consistent BB path for woodland and longer-range engagements. Some retailers list this barrel at 388mm, which is the same product rounded up.
Fitting
Fitting means stripping the replica, moving the hop rubber onto the new barrel and reassembling. When you fit your hop rubber, check that it seats correctly in the hop window and that the nub lines up, as some hop rubbers and nubs fit differently from barrel to barrel. If you are unsure, ask a technician to fit it for you.

Before buying, measure your current inner barrel or check your replica’s manual, as length is critical: a barrel that is too long can protrude beyond the outer barrel or flash hider, and one that is too short may leave the BB unsupported in the outer barrel. Check that your hop-up unit and rubber are compatible with a standard Tokyo Marui-type barrel.
Laylax lists barrel O-ring spacers for added stability inside outer barrels with an internal diameter of 8.6mm to 9.2mm.
Care and maintenance
Before fitting, run a cleaning rod with a soft patch and a drop of silicone oil through the bore, then dry it so no oil reaches the hop rubber. After that, clean the barrel every so often, or whenever accuracy drops off, by pushing a dry or very lightly oiled patch through from the hop-up end. Always use good quality, seamless 6mm BBs, and never fire dirty or damaged BBs, which can scratch the bore or jam in the hop-up.
