Description
Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel for M4A1/S16/SG551+ (6.03mm – 407mm)
This is the 407mm version of the Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel, a stainless steel inner barrel with a 6.03mm tight bore. It is listed for M4A1, S16 and SG551-type AEGs that use this barrel length.
Because several rifles share the 407mm length, this barrel is a versatile upgrade. It suits players who want a quality, well known part to improve consistency in their main rifle.
Build and materials
The EG barrel is made from stainless steel, giving a rigid, corrosion-resistant tube with a smooth 6.03mm bore. The 407mm length is the size listed for M4A1, S16 and SG551-type applications, and it also suits other rifles that use the same inner barrel length.
Performance
A tight bore reduces the gap between the BB and the barrel wall, so less air slips past the BB. That helps efficiency and gives more consistent shots, provided the hop-up rubber and air seal are in good order.
Fit a fresh bucking at the same time if your existing one is worn, set the hop-up for your chosen BB weight, and chronograph the rifle afterwards. A tight bore barrel can raise muzzle velocity slightly.

Compatibility
Suits AEGs that take a 407mm inner barrel, including the M4A1, S16 and SG551-type rifles it is listed for. M4-style carbines are made with several different barrel lengths (363mm is also very common), so measure your current inner barrel before ordering, as outer barrels and hop-up units vary between makers. The hop-up rubber is sold separately.
Care and maintenance
Clean the bore before fitting with a rod and a dry patch, and again whenever groups open up. Do not oil the inside of the barrel or the hop-up rubber; oil attracts dirt and makes BB spin less predictable.
Use good quality seamless BBs and store the rifle with the magazine and battery removed. When stripping the front end, keep the barrel straight and protect the muzzle end from knocks.
Who is it for?
For M4 owners and players with other 407mm barrel rifles who want a well regarded precision barrel. It is a sensible upgrade for a main skirmish rifle and a good base for further tuning.
Please note: Hop-up rubber not included. Always check muzzle velocity after fitting any internal upgrade.
