Description
Laylax Prometheus EG Barrel for M4PMC (6.03mm – 208mm)
This LayLax Prometheus EG inner barrel is listed for M4 PMC models, with a 6.03mm tight bore and a length of 208mm. It is intended to replace the factory inner barrel in a short-barrelled M4, keeping the rifle’s outside dimensions the same while giving it a precise stainless steel bore.
LayLax sells its upgrade internals under the Prometheus name, with EG barrels offered in lengths to suit a long list of replicas.
Construction
Like the rest of the EG range, this barrel is stainless steel, with a bore tolerance listed at plus or minus 0.01mm. Stainless steel is stiff and resists corrosion, so this is a long-term part.
Its 6.03mm bore is tighter than many stock barrels. With less room around the BB, less air is wasted and the BB has a more even path to the muzzle, which helps groups stay tight once the hop is set correctly.
Fitting
Installation means taking out the hop-up unit and factory barrel, transferring or replacing the hop-up rubber, and fitting the EG barrel with its window lined up. Put everything back together, adjust the hop a little at a time and check the power on a chronograph before a game day.
A compact M4 upgrade
Short M4s are some of the most popular replicas at UK sites because they handle well indoors and in woodland. With a barrel of around 200mm, the quality of the bore and the hop-up rubber decide much of how consistently the rifle shoots. An EG barrel and a well-seated bucking give you a solid base for tuning, and they suit a rifle that will spend most of its time at short to medium range.
Key features
- LayLax Prometheus EG precision inner barrel
- 6.03mm tight bore
- 208mm length
- Listed for M4 PMC models
- Stainless steel EG series construction
- Bore tolerance listed at plus or minus 0.01mm
Compatibility
This barrel is listed for M4 PMC models. Barrel lengths and hop-up units differ between makers and even between versions of the same model, so please measure your existing inner barrel or check your replica’s specification, or contact us, before ordering.
The hop-up rubber is not listed as included, so plan to reuse your current bucking or fit a new one at the same time.
Care and maintenance
Keep the bore clean with a rod and patch after every few outings, finishing dry. Clean, seamless BBs of one consistent weight protect both the barrel and the bucking. If a BB ever lodges in the barrel, clear it gently with a cleaning rod rather than firing more BBs behind it.
Who is it for?
It suits owners of a short M4 who want a better, longer-lasting barrel, and players building a tidy CQB or woodland setup.
Please note: The hop-up rubber is not listed as included. Have your replica chronographed after fitting a new barrel.
