Description
LayLax Prometheus MS80 Spring TM NGRS Series
This is a Prometheus MS80 main spring made for Tokyo Marui Next Generation Recoil Shock (NGRS) series AEGs. The main spring is what drives the piston forward on every shot, so it has a direct effect on how your replica performs, and swapping it is one of the most common ways to tune an NGRS rifle.
Prometheus springs are graded by number, and a higher number indicates a stronger spring within the range. The MS80 is one step in that range, so it lets you match your rifle’s spring to the rest of your set-up and to the limits at your site.
About LayLax and Prometheus
LayLax is a long-established Japanese maker of airsoft parts and accessories. Its family of brands covers most areas of the hobby, with Prometheus for internal upgrades, Nine Ball for gas pistol parts, First Factory for external and replacement parts, Giga Tec for electrical items and Satellite for loaders and workshop accessories.
Why the NGRS needs its own spring
Tokyo Marui’s Next Generation Recoil Shock (NGRS) AEGs use their own gearbox and many parts of their own, with a recoil system built into the gearbox. Parts made for standard AEG gearboxes do not necessarily fit an NGRS gearbox, and the reverse is also true, so it is important to buy parts that are made for the NGRS system.
When you change a spring, the rest of the gearbox has to work with it. A stronger spring puts more load on the gears, piston and motor, so it is worth checking that those parts are in good condition, and fitting a spring that suits your battery and motor.

Care and maintenance
After fitting, test the replica with no BBs loaded and the battery or gas connected carefully, listening and feeling for anything unusual before you fire a full magazine. Have the replica chronographed again after any internal change, as part changes can alter its power.
Store spare parts in a sealed bag or small box, somewhere cool and dry and away from direct sunlight, so rubber and polymer parts do not dry out or deform before you need them.
Every site has its own power limits, so always have the replica chronographed after changing the spring and before you play.
Who is it for?
This spring is for owners of Tokyo Marui Next Generation AEGs who want to replace a tired spring or tune their rifle’s power with a quality Prometheus part.
Please note: Fitting requires opening the gearbox. The replica is not included.
