LayLax Prometheus NEO Nozzle TM NGRS M4/416

The Prometheus Sealing Nozzle NEO is an upgrade air nozzle for Tokyo Marui Next Generation M4 and HK416 series AEGs. The nozzle moves back and forth with each shot to feed a BB into the hop-up and then seal behind it, so a good seal here helps the air from the cylinder reach the BB rather than leak away.

Upgrading the nozzle is a simple way to improve air seal and consistency, especially if the original nozzle is worn or you have fitted a new hop-up rubber. It is a good choice for anyone tuning a TM Next Generation rifle.

Design

LayLax describes the NEO nozzle as made from selected high-grade POM, chosen for its dimensional stability and resistance to wear. It has a built-in O-ring to improve air seal, and LayLax says the shape of the nozzle hole is designed to reduce load on the mechanism.

The NGRS gearbox

Tokyo Marui’s Next Generation Recoil Shock (NGRS) AEGs use their own gearbox and many parts of their own, with a recoil system built into the gearbox. Parts made for standard AEG gearboxes do not necessarily fit an NGRS gearbox, and the reverse is also true, so it is important to buy parts that are made for the NGRS system.

Compatibility

LayLax lists the NEO nozzle for these Tokyo Marui Next Generation models: M4A1 Carbine, SOPMOD M4, CQB-R, MK18 MOD1, Recce Rifle, HK416D, DEVGRU Custom HK416D, HK416 Delta Custom, HK416C Custom and HK417 Early Variant. It is not intended for standard AEG gearboxes.

Care and maintenance

If you are not confident working on your replica, have the part fitted by an experienced technician. Keep small screws and springs in a tray while you work, and test the replica’s function carefully with no BBs or gas loaded before using it in a game.

After fitting, test the replica with no BBs loaded and the battery or gas connected carefully, listening and feeling for anything unusual before you fire a full magazine. Have the replica chronographed again after any internal change, as part changes can alter its power.
