Getting started

A garden or indoor range with a proper BB trap is a good place to practise. Always wear eye protection, even when target shooting.
Choosing BBs
The supplied BBs get you started. When you buy more, choose good-quality, seamless 6mm BBs; for a light spring shotgun, 0.12g or 0.20g BBs are a sensible choice. Cheap, misshapen BBs are the most common cause of jams in spring replicas.

Care and maintenance
Spring replicas need very little maintenance. Keep the magazine and loading area free of grit, and put a tiny drop of silicone oil on the moving parts of the pump now and then. Do not leave the shotgun cocked when stored.
Clean the barrel with a rod and dry patch if accuracy falls off, use clean BBs, and store the shotgun in a dry place out of direct sunlight, which can discolour clear plastic over time.
