Description

PPS Mosin Nagant Model 1891/30 Sniper Spring Power (with PU Scope – Beech Wood Stock)

This is a PPS airsoft replica of the Mosin Nagant Model 1891/30 sniper rifle, powered by a spring and fitted with a PU-style scope and a beech wood stock. The Mosin Nagant 1891/30 is one of the most recognisable rifles of the Second World War, and the sniper version with its compact PU scope is a favourite with collectors and WWII re-enactors.

PPS is known for its historical replicas, including several versions of the Mosin Nagant. This spring-powered sniper rifle combines the classic long profile with a real beech wood stock, making it a great choice for WWII-themed games, re-enactment and anyone who wants a piece of history on the wall or on the field.

Build and design

The beech wood stock gives the rifle a traditional look and feel, with the long, slim profile of the original. The PU scope sits on its mount over the action, as on the original sniper rifles, and the bolt is worked by hand for every shot, just like the real thing.

Its length and weight distribution make it steady to aim from the shoulder or a rest, and it looks right with Soviet or Eastern Front kit.

How it works

As a spring-powered bolt-action rifle, each shot is prepared by working the bolt, which cocks the spring. Pulling the trigger releases the spring, which drives a piston to push air behind the BB. There is no gas to buy and no battery to charge, so it is simple, reliable and works the same in any weather.

Spring rifles reward a smooth technique: work the bolt fully, settle your aim and squeeze the trigger. With good BBs and a well-set hop-up, a bolt-action spring rifle can be very consistent.

Getting started

Read the manual first so you know how the safety and loading work. Load the magazine, work the bolt fully back and forward, and fire a few shots at a safe backstop. If the rifle has an adjustable hop-up, add hop gradually until the BBs fly flat, then adjust the scope to match your point of impact.

Have the rifle chronographed at your site before play, and check the site’s minimum engagement distances for bolt-action and sniper rifles.

Compatibility

Use magazines made for this PPS Mosin Nagant; please check with us before buying spares. Use good quality, heavier seamless BBs, as these generally suit bolt-action spring rifles best. The PU-style scope is mounted for this rifle, and other optics may need a different mount.

Care and maintenance

Clean the inner barrel with a rod and patch regularly, and use only clean, seamless BBs. Do not store the rifle cocked, as this keeps the spring under load. Wipe the metalwork with a lightly oiled cloth to prevent marks.

Look after the beech stock as you would any wooden stock: wipe it after wet games, let it dry naturally away from heat, and treat it with a little suitable wood oil or wax from time to time. Protect the scope lenses with a cloth or covers when not in use.

Who is it for?

WWII enthusiasts, re-enactors and collectors, and players who want a classic, spring-powered sniper rifle with a real wood stock for themed games.

Please note: BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s rules and power limits before play.
