Description
Rare Arms R-System ARI5 Shells (30 Pieces Pack – Black)
This is a pack of 30 black shells for Rare Arms rifles that use the R-System, such as the AR-i5 (ARI5). Rare Arms specialises in shell-ejecting replicas: each BB is loaded into its own shell, the shells go into the magazine, and every shot throws an empty case out of the ejection port, just like the real thing.
Shells are a consumable on a rifle like this. Some get lost in grass, leaves and mud, and all of them wear with use, so a spare pack lets you keep more magazines loaded and replace shells as they reach the end of their life.
Black shells
These are the black shells in a 30-piece pack. A UK retailer lists a 30-pack of R-System ARI5 shells as polymer; Rare Arms also offers full metal shells in packs of 15, which are the more durable, more expensive option. Many owners keep a supply of the lighter-cost shells for everyday use and losses on the field.
How shell ejection works
On a shell-ejecting rifle the magazine holds loaded shells rather than loose BBs. Each shot chambers a shell, fires the BB out of it, and ejects the empty case as the action cycles. The number of shells you own therefore decides how many rounds you can have loaded at once, so a pack of 30 is enough to fill a magazine and have spares besides.
Collecting your empty shells is part of the experience. A brass catcher, or playing and practising on ground where shells are easy to find, keeps losses down.
Loading
Load a BB into each shell, then load the shells into the magazine as shown in your rifle’s manual. Look over each shell before you load it and set aside any that are cracked, deformed or dirty, as damaged shells are a common cause of feeding and ejection problems.

Compatibility
Made for Rare Arms R-System shell-ejecting rifles such as the AR-i5. Shells from other shell-ejecting systems are not interchangeable, so check that your rifle uses Rare Arms R-System shells before ordering. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Wipe shells clean after use, especially if they have landed in mud, sand or wet grass, and let them dry fully before storing them in a box or pouch.
Inspect shells regularly and retire any that are bent, cracked or split. Rare Arms rifles need more regular lubrication and adjustment than a typical AEG, so follow the maintenance guidance in your rifle’s manual.
Who is it for?
For AR-i5 owners who want more shells to keep extra magazines loaded, or to replace shells lost or worn out in play.
Please note: Shells only; BBs, magazine and rifle are not included.
