Description
Rossi Neptune 9.5″ SEAL T HPA Edition Airsoft Rifle by MechLabs XX-Mod
The Rossi Neptune 9.5″ SEAL T HPA Edition is an AR-pattern rifle fitted with a MechLabs XX-Mod HPA engine, as named. The 9.5-inch front end keeps it short and handy, and the SEAL-inspired styling gives it a purposeful, modern special forces look. Instead of a battery-driven gearbox, it runs on regulated compressed air, which gives the crisp response and consistency that HPA players look for.
Rossi’s Neptune family covers a range of AR-pattern rifles, and the HPA editions are factory fitted with MechLabs engines. We also list the Neptune 10.5 SAS HPA MechLabs edition, and a UK retailer listing for that model describes the MechLabs XX-Mod as a CNC aluminium mechanical HPA engine that works entirely pneumatically, with no battery and no electronic control unit.
Why HPA
HPA (high-pressure air) replicas use compressed air from a tank on your rig or in the stock, fed through a regulator and airline, instead of a spring-and-piston gearbox driven by a battery. The result is very consistent shot-to-shot velocity, crisp trigger response, a quieter action and performance that is largely unaffected by cold weather.
There is no main spring to fatigue and no gear train to wear, and performance is tuned at the regulator rather than by changing springs. Always set the regulator within your site’s limits and have the rifle chronographed before play.
The MechLabs XX-Mod engine
For the XX-Mod fitted to the Neptune 10.5 SAS HPA edition, the same retailer lists semi and full auto fire, an adjustable magnetic trigger with adjustable weight and travel, a physical cut-off switch, a built-in degassing system and tool-less maintenance. We expect the same engine in this 9.5-inch SEAL T edition, but please check with us if a particular feature matters to you.
Because the engine is mechanical, there is nothing to charge before a game: connect your air, load a magazine and you are ready to play.
Build and handling
The 9.5-inch layout is a good choice for CQB and fast woodland games, where a long rifle can snag on cover, while still giving a full shoulder-fired hold and room on the rails for an optic and light. Please check the product photos for the handguard, stock and furniture fitted to the SEAL T edition.

Compatibility
You will need an HPA tank, a regulator and an airline with fittings that match the rifle’s air input; please check with us if you need help choosing a setup. The Neptune 10.5 SAS HPA edition is listed as taking standard M4 AEG magazines; we expect the same here, but test any magazine before relying on it. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Before connecting your air, check that the regulator is set within the range recommended for the engine, and always de-gas the line before disconnecting it. Inspect the airline and fittings for wear and leaks regularly, and keep the tank’s thread and burst disc clear of dirt.
Keep the inner barrel clean with a rod and soft patch, and use good quality seamless BBs. Wipe the rifle down after wet or muddy games and store it somewhere cool and dry with the air disconnected.
Who is it for?
The Neptune 9.5″ SEAL T HPA edition suits players moving to HPA who want a compact, ready-built rifle with a simple mechanical engine, and experienced HPA users looking for a handy CQB primary.
Please note: HPA tank, regulator and airline are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection when using airsoft replicas, and check your site’s rules and power limits before play.
