Rossi Reinforced Version 2 Gearbox Shell for M4/AR-15 Airsoft AEGs
This is a Rossi reinforced Version 2 gearbox shell for M4 and AR-15 style airsoft electric rifles (AEGs). The gearbox shell is the housing that holds the gears, piston, cylinder, spring and trigger parts, and it takes the full load of every shot. A tired, cracked or damaged shell is one of the more serious faults an AEG can develop, and a fresh reinforced shell is the starting point for a reliable rebuild or upgrade.
The Version 2 gearbox is the most widely used AEG gearbox design, found in M4, AR-15 and many related rifles. That makes a V2 shell a sensible part for technicians, upgraders and anyone who builds or repairs their own rifles.

Designed for Version 2 gearbox M4 and AR-15 style AEGs. V2 shells differ between makers in bearing size, wiring direction, trigger and selector details and spring guide design, so please check that it matches your rifle and your internal parts, or contact us with your rifle model before ordering.
Care and maintenance
Clean the shell before assembly and remove any machining residue. Use a suitable gearbox grease sparingly on the gears and a light lubricant on the cylinder and piston head O-ring, and check the shimming carefully, as poor shimming is the most common cause of wear and noise.
Once fitted, keep the rifle running well by using a suitable battery and spring for your site’s limits, avoiding dry firing, and checking for unusual noises that may indicate a problem.
